Rearrange Sentences In A Paragraph Exercises – PTE Academic Solutions
Let’s find the first sentence –
Point (A), “These markets” – just leave it here. They have told – These markets. So there must be any market, there must be any discussion in the market in the previous sentence. This sentence can’t be first.
Point (B), “such legislation”, so there must be any legislation in the previous sentence. So this can’t be the first.
Point (C), “He was able to argue”, “He was” means – “Mill”. Mill was able to argue, so this can’t be first. The first sentence can’t use “He”, There always be the name of any person in the first paragraph. The first paragraph can’t just begin with “He”.
Point (D), “such abuses”, again there must be some discussion on the abuses above or in the previous sentence. Then only we can continue this sentence. So this can’t be first as well.
Point (E), This is our independent sentence. It can survive without all the above sentences. So this is our first sentence.
Let’s find the second sentence –
In point (A), they have told “These markets” and in Point (E), they talked about “Markets”, So point (A) will be the second sentence.
Let’s find the third sentence –
Point (B), Mill was able to see an expanded role for the State in such legislation, so this can’t be third. There must be any previous paragraph with legislation information. So leave this sentence.
Point (C), “He was able to argue”, so “he was” point (C) will follow point (B). Because in point (B) they have given the name of person “Mill” and in point (C) they have said “He”. So point (C) will follow (B).
In point (D), they have said about some legislative and such abuses and in point (A) they have talked about such abuses like they “were able to act in their own interests, against the interests of both workers and consumers”. These are abuses, so this is our third sentence.
Let’s find the fourth sentence –
In point (D), “such as various Factory Acts to prevent the exploitation of child workers”. In this, they have talked related to factory Acts to prevent the exploitation. In point (B), “such legislation” by legislation we mean “Laws”. So point (B) will be our fourth sentence.
Fifth sentence –
Point (C) will be the last one, as we explained earlier that point (C) will follow point (B).
Answer – E – A – D – B – C
