Ques 1. What is the main subject of the passage?
[A]. The low payout is causing most teachers to retire. [B]. Teachers play important role in brightening the future of students. [C]. Teaching is not a job that one chooses to be rewarded by the pay. [D]. Necessary steps should be taken regarding hike in teachers salaries.TRANSCRIPT (Only for reference, it will not be given in PTE Academic Test)
Do salaries of teachers should be increased? How many of you believe that the salaries of teachers must be increased. I believe they should get paid twice as much as their current income. Teachers prepare children for their future. Those who don’t think that teachers don’t deserve to be paid more, they don’t understand how important teachers are to society. This is a vice-versa circle where teachers depend on us to pay them and our future depends on teachers. If your future is in right hands then only you can see a bright future. In the coming years, teachers are expected to leave their classrooms, if they are still getting the same salary. So if you want your nephews and nieces to get a proper education and be taught by professionals, we need to start paying teachers more.

[A]. The population in 29 countries will more than double. [B]. Worldwide population increases and hit ten billion mark with a minor decline in the European countries. [C]. Projections of PRB’s shows declines in fertility rates. [D]. 40% increase in the population of oceanic countries.TRANSCRIPT (Only for reference, it will not be given in PTE Academic Test)
As per PRB (Population Reference Bureau), the world population would hit the 10 billion mark in 2053. This will be possible if PRB’s projections are applied to subsequent years. Jeffrey Jordan, president and CEO of PRB said: “Despite declines in fertility rates around the world, we expect population gains to remain strong enough to take us toward a global population of 10 billion”. Significant regional differences remain, though. For instance population of Africa is expected to double while very low birth rates in Europe will mean population declines. Projections of PRB’s shows that the Africa population will reach 2.5 billion by 2050, Asia will gain about 900 million to 5.3 billion, Oceanic countries like Australia and New Zealand will also mark gain from 40 million to 66 million. Europe registers a decline from 740 million to 730 million.
