Globally, we are one which is possible only due to globalization which has revolutionized our world in many aspects. Earlier we belong to a big planet earth and now it seems like a small world. We can easily trade with any country, everything is easily available everywhere. The definition of each word or phrase is changing and amendments are done due to recent innovations. Transportation of goods over a long distance is a new concept in front of all. There are many advantages and disadvantages of transporting goods over a long distance. In my opinion, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
Transportation offers a lot of choices to choose according to our budget. Now we can taste fruits and vegetables from all parts of the world. For instance, about ten years ago, we hardly saw kiwi fruit which is from New Zealand, but now it has a place on almost every fruit stand. Like kiwi fruit of New Zealand, there are many other products in the world which we are unaware of. Transporting long-distance goods solves this problem and made them possible to reach every product in any part of the world.
People gets employed in this field which also helps in increasing the overall economy of the country. Small business entrepreneurs have the chance to expand globally. This also helps in developing good relations between two different countries which results in international cooperation and peace.
On the other side, importing goods have a negative effect on local culture. Sometimes people gave preference to the imported product and start eliminating the local product. For instance, people of Japan prefers to take imported food and replaced it with their own traditional food. Secondly, the major disadvantage of importing goods is pollution. Exhaust fumes increase pollution because of road, sea and air transport.
In conclusion, importing goods have both merits and demerits but the pros outweigh the cons.
